MonaVie is a company that distributes nutritional beverage products created from blended fruit juice concentrates. The products are sold via MLM or multi-level marketing.
About the Product
The beverage products are made using blended fruit juice concentrates together with acai powder that is freeze-dried and puree. Marketing efforts claim that the product gives health benefits and antioxidants which MIGHT help with ailments in the body. The Brazilian acai berry is the main ingredient used and is considered to have a high nutritional value. There are 18 other fruits included in the mix. This drink is not FDA approved.
The blend consists of acai, apple, purple grape, acerola, white grape, aronia, prune, kiwi, wolfberry, camu camu, pear, banana, bilberry, cupuacu, pomegranate, passion fruit, cranberry and lychee fruit.
The Company
MonaVie is available in the United States, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, Mexico and Israel. The company is currently trying to currently expand into more markets. MonaVie was introduced in January 2005, offering nutritional products to be distributed person-to-person, through the network marketing model.
Person-to-person distribution allows individuals to earn commissions. Some are considered as wholesale customers, while others are given administrative or executive tasks. Some distributors can expect to earn anywhere between $1,000 to $30,000 per year from distribution and sales if working consistently and marketing effectively.
From the research I’ve done so far, I can say this seems to be a legit opportunity.
However, the MAJOR PROBLEM I see is the marketing plan. This company teaches its reps to prospect family & friends, do home parties, buy leads and distribute brochures.. I don’t believe this to be a solid marketing plan. With the Internet, business can be leveraged to reach millions across the globe.Final thoughts?
